Job Summary

The Department of Management in the Monte Ahuja College of Business at Cleveland State University is seeking a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 17, 2026.


Duties include teaching 18 credit hours (onsite and online) per academic year at the Undergraduate or Graduate levels; perform research consistent with college expectations; and participate in department-, college-, and university-level service activities.

The MGT department employs 17 full-time faculty and offers coursework at the bachelor, master, and doctoral levels. Our department is housed within the Monte Ahuja College of Business. The college employs 75 full-time faculty members. All programs are AACSB accredited at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Enrollment is approximately 3,000 students, and the degrees we offer include: DBA, MCIS, MBA, MHRM, MAcc, BSCIS, and BBA.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Doctoral Degree or ‘ABD’ in HR or equivalent discipline from an AACSB or equivalent accredited university. Appropriate terminal degree completed by July 1, 2026. Persons who are ABD will be hired at the rank of Instructor;
  • A primary interest and experience in teaching Human Resource Management courses, and evidence of having taught at least 2 (two) sections of relevant courses;
  • Candidates must be research active in Management journals with HR topics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful experience teaching human resource courses at an AACSB accredited university;
  • A research record demonstrating impact on the field of human resource management or one that demonstrates the potential for impact.
