Job Summary
The Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine seeks candidates for the position of Associate Chief for Operations and Strategy of Hospital Medicine. This position is embedded with the Division of Hospital Medicine and will directly report to the Division Chief of Hospital Medicine. Areas of focus include oversight of daily operations over 2 hospital campuses, developing and leading growth planning and integration, and serving as acting chief when required. Candidates should have excellent skills and experience in leadership, in addition to the skills needed to further the tripartite mission of clinical care, education, and research. This position includes a mix of leadership duties and clinical duties.

The Division is poised to achieve regional and national recognition in clinical care delivery and medical education with opportunity to build a robust research program focused on the care of medically complex patients. The Division of Hospital Medicine is the largest division within the university with about 100 Faculty Physicians and 20 Advance Practice Providers, 125K annual encounters, and about 14K discharges; operating with a fully integrated Electronic Health Record System (EHR – Epic).
