Description
The Associate Program Coordinator supports UNE North programs, with a focus on the Sustainability Fellowship. Responsibilities include coordinating program marketing, securing proposals from host organizations, promoting fellowship opportunities to UNE students and recent graduates, reviewing applications and conducting interviews, organizing the summer program, hiring and managing fellows, ensuring timely payroll, and reviewing final student projects. This role engages with students, host organizations, and internal teams to ensure the smooth operation and successful delivery of the program.

Responsibilities


  • Support the UNE Sustainability Fellows Team throughout the year including scheduling weekly meetings and developing agendas, taking meeting notes, prioritizing tasks , and tracking progress.
  • Market the program and request proposals from host organizations for a sustainability fellow; assist in review of proposals. Prepare and send host agreements and invoices.
  • Market program to UNE students and recent graduates including collaboration with UNE internship coordinators. This includes updating the Sustainability Fellows web page and posting Fellowship opportunities on UNE’s electronic job platform.
  • Organize review of student applications and setup interviews with host organizations. Conduct interviews with student applicants.
  • Help organize summer program; hire student fellows; coordinate summer schedule and fellows activities.
  • Communicate regularly with fellows and advise when necessary; ensure they submit time sheets before deadlines.
  • Assist UNE Team in preparing students for showcase presentations and review/edit final student deliverables; post final deliverables and showcase presentations on Sustainability Fellows web page.
  • Explore opportunities to develop partnerships and fellowships with organizations across to the North Atlantic
  • Further connect UNE Sustainability Fellows program with other UNE North programs as opportunities arise.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree that has provided a solid foundation in sustainability and 1-3 years related experience or combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
  • Working knowledge applying sustainability principles in classes and/or work environment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with small teams across UNE
  • Educating undergraduate students in interdisciplinary and systems-based approaches
