Job Description:
The Business Services Specialist supports the operational
and administrative functions of the Business and Auxiliary Services unit. This position coordinates assists in managing relationships with
external business partners that provide services to the campus community and provides project coordination support to ensure the efficient
operation of BAS programs benefiting students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Additionally, this position coordinates key auxiliary programs,
including campus transportation and vending machine support.

Responsibilities:


Business Partner
Coordination

  • Support monitoring of contract deliverables and service performance to ensure alignment with institutional
    expectations.
  • Serve as a key liaison between Business and Auxiliary Services and external business partners (e.g., bookstore,
    dining, vending, transportation, and other contracted services).
  • Coordinate communication between campus departments and BAS
    partners to address operational needs, concerns, or service improvements.
  • Assist with coordinating meetings, service reviews, and
    operational updates with vendors and contractors.
  • Assist in maintaining positive working relationships with partners that support
    campus operations.

Transportation Coordination


  • Coordinate day-to-day campus transportation services, including
    shuttle operations and other contracted transportation programs.
  • Serve as the primary departmental contact for transportation
    vendors and service providers.
  • Monitor transportation schedules, service delivery, and service performance to ensure operational
    effectiveness.
  • Respond to transportation service issues and coordinate resolutions with vendors and campus
    partners.
  • Maintain transportation service data, usage reports, and program documentation.

Financial and Operational
Support

  • Coordinate the preparation of journals, purchase requisitions, billing, and reporting.
  • Coordinate administrative
    functions for the Business and Auxiliary Services office, including scheduling meetings, preparing correspondence, and maintaining
    departmental records.
  • Support coordination of departmental projects, initiatives, and operational improvements.
  • Maintain
    organized documentation related to contracts, services, and BAS programs.
  • Assist with purchasing processes, invoice tracking, and
    budget-related documentation as needed.

General Responsibilities


  • Provide customer service and information to campus
    stakeholders regarding BAS programs and services.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives related to auxiliary services
    operations.
  • Support departmental planning efforts and service improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the
    mission and operations of Business and Auxiliary Services.

Minimum Qualifications:


EDUCATION

  • High
    School Diploma or GED.


EXPERIENCE

  • Six years of experience in finance or budget, administrative coordination,
    operations management, or business services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES


  • Strong organizational, problem-solving,
    and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and
    work collaboratively across departments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or comparable software systems.
  • Experience
    working in higher education or auxiliary services operations.
  • Experience working with external vendors, contractors, or service
    providers.
  • Familiarity with transportation coordination, service operations, or contract monitoring.
