Job Description Summary
Dining Services is part of GW’s Business Services Team, overseeing all food operations on both Foggy Bottom and Mount Vernon Campuses. The Dining Services Associate is a member of the GW Dining Services team and is responsible for the oversight of the Residential Dining program operated by a third-party vendor.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing dining solutions to meet customer needs and expectations
- Ensure the third-party vendor’s performance meets objectives and student expectations
- Ensure safety and sanitation standards in all operations
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment is maintained
- Maintain effective student and vendor rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships
- Identify student needs and communicate with vendors and dining leadership
- Review production records to ensure sufficient product is produced
- Participate in department sustainability efforts; for example:
- Farm to Table initiative
- Composting initiative
- Garden/Botany initiative
- Work with student groups to ensure student feedback is heard
- Reward and recognize employees
- Build an award-winning culture
- Oversight of the Student Advisory Panel
- Monitor contractor KPI’s
- Support marketing efforts to increase GW Dining’s social media presence and student participation
- Support the GW Dining website to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is available
- Oversight of Student Employees and GW Dining Call Center
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Hiring Range
$44,985.20 – $57,788.56
