Required Qualifications:
- This
position requires a High School Diploma or GED - Six (6) months of related work experience in customer service or security
- A
valid Florida Driver’s License - CPR certification required or must be attained within six (6) months from start date
- A
Florida Class “D” Security License is also required. The Class “D” security license can be supplemented by the successful completion of a
basic law enforcement academy training certificate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs
routine patrol and building/room checks. - Responsible for all open and closure activities.
- Responds to incidents, accidents,
and emergencies on campus and writes reports. - Assist staff, students, and visitors as needed in a friendly and professional
manner. - Works dispatch, including answering phones, dispatching calls, and monitoring alarm systems.
- Maintains necessary
campus security records and reports. - Maintains and cleans golf carts and other assigned equipment.
- Attends periodic
trainings. - Maintains NIMS/FEMA certificates, CPR certificate, and class D License. Attends periodic training such as: conflict
resolution, report writing, AED, golf cart, and EVAC.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Excellent customer service skills to provide information, guidance, or aid.
- Computer skills sufficient to prepare security
incident reports. - Effective oral and written communications proficiencies.
- Requires light work that involves walking or
standing most of the time, exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a recurring basis. - Ability and willingness to work, overtime, and on
holidays and weekends; be flexible with job duties and available to work extended shifts with little or no prior
notice.
