Job Description:
Bryn Mawr College is seeking a Campus Safety Officer to join our campus community. Campus Safety is

Officer performs a variety of duties to support the safety and security of students, staff, faculty, visitors, and campus buildings/grounds.

and within 2-3 hours of New York City, Baltimore, and Washington, DC, Bryn Mawr’s location offers easy access to public transportation and
endless recreation, dining, retail, and cultural activities.

benefits, including but not limited to a 10% retirement contribution. This full-time, non-exempt position has an anticipated
schedule of 40 hours per week, year-round (2,080 hours annualized), 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Wednesday through Sunday.
Position
Responsibilities:
- Conduct foot and mobile patrols of the College’s 135-acre campus, including buildings, grounds, parking lots,
and the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research campus.
- Conduct exterior checks of campus property and lighting
and perform weekly checks of emergency phones and towers.
- Respond in a safe, prompt, and efficient manner to calls from
the dispatcher, including;
- Investigating suspicious activity.
- Responding to medical, fire, safety, and
other emergencies.
- Managing difficult or high stress situations with a calm, professional demeanor.
- Gathering and documenting information related to unusual behavior and potential violations of law or College policy.
- Responding to security (burglary/fire) alarms on campus.
- Responding to requests for campus escorts.
- Provide emergency medical transportation on an as needed basis.
- Complete incident reports in a clear, concise, and
professional manner.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or
equivalent required.
- Professional experience in public safety, security, or related fields.
- Experience
in a higher education environment is preferred.
- Ability to engage positively and professionally with students, staff, and
visitors to provide information, assistance, and referrals to campus resources.
- Ability to conduct extended foot patrols
in extreme weather and varying temperatures.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Successful completion of satisfactory background checks.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving
record.
- Current certification or the ability to obtain certification in CPR, first aid, crime prevention, and
self-defense.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with
individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency with email, Workday, and basic Microsoft Office applications (Word,
Excel).
