Duties

The State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz invites applications for a Compliance Coordinator and Funds Disbursement Specialist. The Compliance Coordinator and Funds Disbursement Specialist will assist with analyzing information as it pertains to the certification of TAP awards to eligible SUNY New Paltz students. The position will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations concerning Title IV aid, state aid, refunding, tax reporting, and PCI compliance. The position will assist with processing refunds, repayments and redeposits while adhering to all federal and state guidelines. The ideal candidate must have a strong attention to detail.



Duties and Responsibilities:

Assistance with the TAP certification process: Analyze, investigate, and process TAP funds.


Compliance and regulatory oversight: Review financial responsibility documentation and confirmation of enrollment, ensure compliance with federal regulations like title IV, assist with 1098-T tax reporting, support audits, assist with PCI compliance.

Refunding: Title IV tracking and credit refunds. Monitor all LOA/Withdrawals. Follow all federal guidelines as they relate to the calculation of federal aid funds and entitlement of funds. Process loan repayments and loan redeposits.



Qualifications


Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong analytical skills.


Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Financial Aid and Student Accounts.
  • Thorough understanding of ARGOS, Banner, and Microsoft products.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:


  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to analyze data with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Ability to enter, monitor and interpret data accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office, Argos and Banner.
