Job Description

The Data Architect III is accountable for the detailed design and development of the data warehouse
concepts, maintenance of data models with up-to-date documentation, and is also the subject matter expert for data design, SQL, methods,
structures and tools.

The Data Architect III drives common approaches and documents information assets and processes across the
School of Medicine, and as a senior member of the BI Team is expected to provide both mentoring and leadership.


Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to
    document use cases, solutions and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated expertise architecting and deploying reliable data systems and data
    quality management systems.
  • Highly advanced skills in the evaluation, design, and deployment of new tools, frameworks, and patterns
    to build scalable data platforms.
  • Excellent database design skills.
  • Highly proficient data analysis and data management
    skills.
  • Excellent analytical thinking.
  • Well versed in: Agile Practices Business Analysis, and SDLC Methodologies and
    Practices.
  • Excellent working knowledge of programming languages and frameworks.
  • Highly proficient in the use of SQL
    databases.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Data Modeling.
  • Highly proficient skills working with Visualization and Reporting
    Tools (such as Power BI, Cognos, MicroStrategy).
  • Excellent coaching and mentoring
    skills.


Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and six (6) years’ relevant IT experience to include SQL, data modeling, reporting,
    visualization, as well as ETL, plus a minimum of four (4) years’ Agile project experience.

PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Business Intelligence experience in higher education or healthcare.
