The Direct Support Professional (DSP) Success Coach is a part-time position and works directly
with students in the field who are pursuing the College’s three-tiered DSP Micro-Credential Program. The primary focus is to support
students through completion of the college-level classes and completion of their National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP)
e-badging for each tier. This is a hybrid position which will require evening hours and some weekends, communicating remotely and in-person
with students. The Success Coach will coordinate hours working from home and on campus with their direct supervisor.
This is a
grant-funded position and reports directly to the Director of the Direct Support Professional Program.
This is a part-time position with
an hourly rate of $24.00 per hour.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited
institution, Associates degree preferred, in particular in Human Services or related field. - At least three years of experience as
a Direct Support Professional or within a related field. - Strong understanding of DSP work and schedules
- Experience
working with diverse populations. - Ability to drive to/from local agencies for recruitment responsibilities.
JOB
DUTIES
- Serve as an academic advisor communicating regularly with DSP students to ensure successful completion of classes
and e-badges. - Work with Director to identify at-risk students and develop interventions for success. This will include working
closely with One Stop personnel (e.g. tutors and personal counselors) and faculty, and meeting regularly with students. - Assist
students with submitting requests for emergency funding to the Director. - Assist Director with tracking all data related to DSP
students including completion of micro-credentials, tracking progress through the 3 micro-credentials, completion of e-badges and follow up
with students. - Complete other duties as assigned by Director.
