Position Summary
The Director of Creative Video conceptualizes, executes, and delivers creative video content for Colorado State University Athletics. Individual’s primary duty involves the performance of work requiring imagination, originality and talent in creation of artistic video content that enhances and extends the Colorado State Athletics brand; individual also collaborates with multiple internal and external constituent groups to identify and capture stories; institutes best practices; assists with development of unit workflows to produce ample and timely content; is actively involved in the game-day atmosphere; and cultivates fan engagement and affinity through effective story telling.
The Colorado State University Department of Athletics sponsors 16 men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports and competes as a member of NCAA Division I (FBS). The University is a current member of the Mountain West Conference and future member of the Pac-12 Conference. The University is located in Fort Collins, Colorado, 65 miles north of Denver. Essential Job Duties
- Provide strategic leadership for the Creative Video program.
- Oversee the planning, production, and delivery of high-quality video content, ensuring projects are completed on time, meet brand standards, and effectively support recruiting, fan engagement, and institutional storytelling.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners across across the university and contribute as a proactive team member who supports broader departmental goals.
- Lead and execute content strategies and campaigns that extend beyond the video unit, aligning video initiatives with department wide objectives, seasonal priorities, and institutional branding.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop full time staff and interns, fostering professional growth, skill development, and a culture of excellence within the video team.
Supervision
Supervises 1-2 full-time employees, 5-10 student hourly employees per semester, independent contractors, and volunteers when applicable.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in video production or creative video content (intern, GA and professional experience applicable)
- Experience employing and/or operating various cameras, lighting, audio and other video production equipment
- Demonstrated understanding of and skill set with visual composition and storytelling
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent
- Experience working in NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics
- Knowledge of applicable NCAA rules and regulations
Salary Range
$60,000 — $70,000
