Job Description Summary
This position will provide leadership to a recently transformed unit that is
educational and student experience focused-a one-stop-shop for navigating the University’s immunization and insurance requirements as well
as education on healthcare access navigation. The Director is expected to be a systems level leader, effective manager, and committed to
providing operational excellence across all service delivery methods. The Director ensures provision of seamless, integrated,
cross-functional service in the areas of healthcare access and medical record activation, immunization verification, health insurance
verification, education, billing, auditing, and compliance of Wellness.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support the daily operations of the Navigator team. Direct the delivery of superior customer service
    to students and their families; lead the education, outreach, and communication about requirements; and oversee the audit, improvement, and
    enforcement of the University’s health insurance and immunization requirements.
  • Oversee multi-system data integration and analysis
    to inform outreach efforts, propose responses and/or solutions for improvement in metrics and compliance, and ensure accurate and timely
    billing and insurance registration.
  • Develop, implement and monitor overall mission, including collaborating within Wellness and
    other campus offices, to develop and refine student-centric policies and procedures. Collaborate with applicable offices (e.g., Information
    Services, Registrar, the 12 Schools etc.) in the enforcement of Wellness requirements Build partnerships within the University community.
    Work cooperatively and collaboratively with schools and administration to promptly resolve student, staff issues and
    concerns.
  • Develop new and innovative ideas and/or process solutions to enhance student experience that meets the changing needs of
    students and achieves Wellness requirements compliance goals.Lead on-going strategic planning efforts of the Navigator team by collecting
    internal and external feedback, analyzing impact on key department and University goals, and charging the staff to execute the strategic
    initiatives identified.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and 5 to 7 years of
    experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Required Qualifications

  • At least three
    (3) years of management and customer service experience.
  • Experience in quality improvement and data analysis.
  • Previous
    higher education and/or public health and/or healthcare experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation
    skills.
  • Alternative work schedule may be required, including evenings and/or weekends.

Preferred
Qualifications


  • Advanced degree (Masters level).
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills, along with the ability to work within tight and often conflicting deadlines.
  • Must be flexible, show effective judgement, discretion and have the ability to handle confidential and/or sensitive
    matters.
  • Work effectively in a highly matrixed and decentralized environment with the ability to navigate through ambiguity and
    demonstrate appreciation and support for diversity, inclusion and belonging in a constantly evolving academic/higher education
    environment.
  • Ability to work across multiple data systems.
  • Understanding of financial literacy, health insurance, and
    vaccines.
  • Working knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR) system and/or healthcare experience.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to
the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job’s level. Internal
