This
position provides support for University web-based systems including the University Digital Experience Platform (Adobe Experience Manager),
University web portal, mobile application, and other key functions include organizing and preparing training documentation as
required.


The Systems Analyst drives the analysis, adjustment, and restructuring of different aspects of the University’s web-based
systems, processes, and operational functions and works effectively with University Technology Services teams to translate needs into
technical solutions. The Systems Analyst consults regularly with end users to understand and document business processes and facilitates the
identification of solutions to increase user efficiency and effectiveness.

This position is responsible for working proactively with
University functions to articulate and plan for technology needs, elicit and analyze both functional and technical requirements, analyze
alternatives, and create and execute test plans and guide end users through UAT. This position typically serves as a liaison between IT and
functional user groups. As Villanova continues to execute its cloud smart strategy, the System Analyst will have the opportunity to work
with key technologies and services, including AEM, Modo Labs, Siteimprove, Web Analytics, and more.

Duties and Responsibilities


ESSENTIAL JOB
FUNCTIONS:

  • End User Support: Support University web-based systems such as the University Digital
    Experience Platform (Adobe Experience Manager), web portal, mobile application, and other web-based platforms. Monitor ticket queues,
    escalate/prioritize urgent requests and stakeholder needs, assign tickets as appropriate and ensure SLAs are followed.

  • Training and Documentation: Organize and prepare training documentation and knowledge base articles as required and
    maintain in knowledge sharing applications. Prepare user documentation with program narratives and end user procedures both for online and
    printed documentation solutions. Creates Learning Management System (LMS) modules to ensure authors meet all requirements.

  • Organizational Process: Establish solid understanding of University processes, business owners, and dependencies.
    Create documentation to reflect current processes and workflows, working across the organization to understand upstream and downstream
    roadblocks and impacts. Work directly with customers to transform processes and help them leverage IT solutions and resources to enable
    their improvement. Perform needs analysis. Proactively research common solutions, evaluate and develop options for improvement, and present
    recommendations regularly to leadership and business offices.

  • Analysis, Design, Test, Execution:
    Implement strategies for gathering, reviewing, and analyzing system and data requirements. Perform requirements elicitation
    following best practices. Document requirements, establish scope and objectives, and determine strategy for evaluating requirements
    implementation in systems to achieve business goals. Translate and simplify requirements for appropriate use; perform gap analysis and
    requirements analysis working with the technical team. Prioritize requirements working with University partners and create conceptual
    prototypes and mock-ups, where appropriate. Perform requirements management and communication; apply best practices for effective
    communication and problem-solving. Validate requirements throughout process per plan. Use requirements to drive the design or review of test
    cases, process change requests. Create and execute test scripts and test plans for Unit testing, QA and UAT testing. Work with stakeholders
    to ensure UAT testing is performed accurately and timely.

  • Measurement: Develops requirements adoption
    metrics and other methods of evaluating the long-term performance of the solution. Reviews and monitors the effectiveness of analysis via
    test results. Provides status reports.

Minimum Qualifications

Formal Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree;
    relevant industry certifications such as IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), or PMI Professional in Business Analysis
    Certification (PMI-PBA), plus years’ experience, may be considered in lieu of degree

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience supporting web-based CMS systems
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience analyzing
    business processes and data or equivalent combination of experience, education, and certification required.
  • Experience with
    projects involving multiple technologies and functions

Specific Job Knowledge (e.g., knowledge of principles and procedures

  • Experience developing use cases/user stories
  • Experience developing test plans
  • Experience with a content management system
  • Experience with Google Analytics reporting
  • Knowledge of information
    security and WCAG 2.1/digital accessibility best practices in relation to web development

Preferred
Qualifications


Formal Education:

  • Master’s degree in a related discipline
  • Relevant industry
    certifications such as IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), or PMI Professional in Business Analysis Certification
    (PMI-PBA)

Work Experience:


  • 5+ years of relevant experience supporting web-based CMS systems
  • Experience working in Higher Ed
  • Experience working with project management tools, such as Team Dynamix or Smartsheet
  • Demonstrated understanding of business analyst tools and techniques; demonstrated proficiency using MS Office and process mapping tools
    such as Visio or LucidChart


Specific Job Knowledge (e.g., knowledge of principles and procedures related to field and
area):

  • Experience provisioning and creating role base workflows within a content management system
  • Experience
    developing business cases
  • Experience developing automated test scripts
  • Demonstrated understanding of client relationship
    management, process mapping and improvement, and project management
  • Demonstrated skill in applying AI-driven methods to optimize
    business analysis practices, improve decision-making, and support faster, higher-quality project outcomes

Salary Posting Information

This position falls within salaried grade 16 and the range for this
position is $86,300-95,900. The final salary will be determined with consideration of several factors including the selected candidate’s
qualifications, department budget availability, market data, and internal equity.
