Environmental Technician

Job Description:

This position is responsible for performing the cleaning tasks required for the upkeep and cleanliness of college buildings and will assist the supervisor in the assignment and direction of work as required.

Essential Job Functions:

10 % A. Vacuum, spot clean upholstered furniture using vacuum cleaner and/or brush. Clean baseboards.

10 % B. Sweep and mop stairs, landings by hand or machine.

10 % C. Clean offices, classrooms, public areas and restrooms.

10 % D. Clean and dust furniture, bulletin cases, pictures, fixtures, door frames, and related furnishings.

10 % E. Clean, sanitize and disinfect restrooms. Replenish paper and soap supplies.

10 % F. Collect and carry out trash and recyclable material.

10 % G. Perform snow removal as assigned.

10 % H. Communicate with the supervisor about any maintenance problems in the assigned areas.

10 % I. Assist the supervisor with the inspection of work in the assigned buildings to ensure standards are being met.

10 % J. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

Required: Combination of training, experience and education directly related to custodial cleaning.

Preferred: High school diploma or equivalency.

Professional Experience:

Required: Must have three years of custodial experience.

Preferred: Floor care training.

The starting rate for this position is $15.89 per hour.
