JOB SUMMARY:
To operate and maintain Tiger Transit shuttle vehicles transporting faculty, staff, students and visitors to campus. Other Duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
80% – Essential – Transport visitors, faculty, staff and students in handicap accessible van and cutaway buses
10% – Essential – Provides maintenance checks of vehicles.
5% – Essential – Maintains records of passengers transported and miles driven with paper and electronic devices.
5% – Essential – Serves as ambassador for Parking and Transportation Services in public relation initiatives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education – Experience in the operation or maintenance of heavy equipment, motorized vehicles or machinery that is directly related to area of employment
Licenses – Drivers License Class D normal < 26,000
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education – High School or Equivalent
Work Experience – 6 months
RESPONSIBILITIES
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Fundamental Job Knowledge – Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Supervisory Duties – Not responsible for supervising employees.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Budget Responsibilities – No fiscal responsibility for the department’s budget.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
30% – Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period
5% – Walk or move about
25% – Use hands or feet to operate or handle machinery, equipment, etc
5% – Ascend or descend (i.e. stairs, ladder)
5% – Position self to accomplish task (i.e. stoop, kneel, crawl)
10% – Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself
10% – Recognize or inspect visually
5% – Extends hands or arms in any direction
WORKING CONDITIONS:
5% – Exposure to heat or cold
5% – Exposure to dust/fumes
5% – Noise
WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard Hrs: 28
COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary ($16.25 per hour)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson’s compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
