Job Description:
Under direct supervision, provides routine assistance in the
preparation and serving of food, sanitation, and/or kitchen maintenance.
The Dining Services Department at Salisbury University is
accepting applications for Food Service Assistant (Part-Time Contingent I) positions in Dining Services in an effort to maintain a
pool of applicants for future openings. Once you have applied, if you are selected for an interview, you will be

Primary Job Duties: Provide routine assistance in the preparation and serving of food; set up and break down
service lines; cashiering; maintain safe and sanitary conditions; operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens,
mixers, toasters, etc.; consistently demonstrates excellent customer service skills to all internal and external customers and other duties
as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Serve Safe or Food Handler and/or Sanitation Certification required by the end of the
first contract period/semester. Ability to assist in preparing and serving food; to read and write; to perform basic arithmetic
computations; to operate food service equipment and appliances; to use kitchen utensils; to work in irritating environments and adverse
temperature conditions; to follow oral and written instructions; to lift, transport and stock food service supplies, materials and
equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications: One year food service experience; High School Diploma
or equivalent.
Additional Job Information:
These are part-time (19 hour) non-exempt contingent positions with no
benefits. Salary is up to $15.75 per hour. Working periods include late-August through mid-December and late-January through late-May; work
schedules within these periods will vary based upon the needs of the University.
