Description of Job Duties

Job Summary:

Prepares menu items including short order, working tickets, and preparing food in timely fashion. Acts as a resource for the Food Services department and builds effective, strong working relationships to enhance department operations and functions.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide support services to the department in a manner that professionally, cordially, and efficiently assists students, faculty, staff, and visitors
  • Take orders and prepare food in a timely fashion
  • Assist in other areas as requested
  • Specific assignments are based on unit need and assigned by the supervisor which could include such things as adjusting recipes for serving amount, complete food preparation production sheets, clean up and sanitize conditions of assigned area, major cleaning of appliances, ensure proper storage and disposal of unused foods


Work Setting:

  • Expectation of on-campus presence with attendance and punctuality
  • Promote personal safety, safety procedures, and a safe work environment
  • Assist with call-back situations as called upon
  • Employment at will
  • Full-time status
  • 12-month appointment
  • Non-exempt

Education and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Basic written, verbal, math skills, and interpersonal skills
  • Utilize kitchen equipment

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in short order cooking, working tickets and preparing food, or commercial kitchen
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the President of SWOSU or their designee may find appropriate


Competencies:

  • Organized, manages time effectively, and keeps tasks appropriately prioritized
  • Ability to work with, assist, lead, and take directions from others in the interest of moving processes and programs forward to the desired outcome
