Job Description
The Front Desk Security Coordinator is the first point of contact for the university’s corporate office, responsible for safeguarding
people, information, and facilities while delivering exceptional customer service to staff, students, visitors, and vendors. This role
integrates front desk operations with security procedures to maintain a safe, organized, and professional environment in a fast-paced online
university setting.
The ideal candidate will proficiently manage visitor check-in, badge issuance, wayfinding, lost-and-found
operations, and basic security procedures, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and compliant environment. This role requires strong communication
skills, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Coordinator – Site Security, you’ll serve as the first point of contact for staff, students, visitors, and vendors-playing a critical role
in safeguarding people, information, and facilities while delivering exceptional customer service.
The Role: Front Desk Security
Coordinator
The Front Desk Security Coordinator integrates front desk operations with security procedures to maintain a safe,
organized, and professional corporate office environment. This role manages visitor access, badge issuance, wayfinding, and lost-and-found
operations while supporting security processes and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills,
attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the
first point of contact by greeting and assisting visitors, students, faculty, staff, and vendors while verifying authorization for access as
needed - Manage visitor check-in, badge issuance, access credentials, escort requirements, and accurate visitor logs
- Support
security operations including access control systems, incident reporting, lost-and-found management, and emergency response
procedures - Coordinate with Facilities, Safety & Security, IT, People & Talent, Legal, and site leadership regarding access,
vendors, and safety needs - Maintain confidentiality, data protection standards, and a professional reception environment while
upholding university brand and service expectations
What You Bring
- High school diploma or
equivalent - 3+ years of experience in security operations (safety and security procedures, emergency response, incident
escalation) - 1+ years of experience in front desk, receptionist, hospitality, or customer service
- Experience with Microsoft
Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Bonus if you have
- First Aid/CPR/AED training
- Experience with
ServiceNow or similar ticketing platforms - Experience with electronic badge access systems, and visitor management
software - Experience in building management systems or corporate security environments
- Familiarity with customer service best
practices and emergency procedures
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or work at a computer workstation
for extended periods, with occasional standing or walking - Occasional lifting of supplies and operation of front desk equipment
(badge printers, computers, cameras)
Work Location
This is a full-time, in-office position at WGU’s headquarters
in Salt Lake City, UT. You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team committed to safety, service, and operational excellence.

Position & Application Details
Full-Time
Regular Positions (classified as regular and working 40 standard weekly hours): This is a full-time, regular position (classified for 40
standard weekly hours) that is eligible for bonuses; medical, dental, vision, telehealth and mental healthcare; health savings account and
