ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern
Illinois College is accepting applications for a full-time, grant-funded Maintenance Worker. These positions are covered under the agreement
between the College and Service Employees Union Local #116. Applications are valid for one year and will be placed in a pool for
review.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this
is a full-time position assigned a 40 hour schedule each week and is contingent upon external funds. The work involves considerable manual
labor throughout the work shift as well as the application of a variety of skills. Personnel are required to exercise problem-solving skills
in diagnosing and resolving a wide range of mechanical problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Functional reading and basic
math skills as evidenced by a High School Diploma or GED certificate is required. - A minimum of two years of relevant work experience
is required. - Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license.
- Technical school or vocational training
strongly preferred. - Maintenance workers must be able to satisfactorily perform the assigned duties. Work experience is strongly
preferred in three or more of the following areas:
- Building automation systems controls (Trane/Niagara)
- Centrifugal
Chillers - Air Handlers
- Electrical
- Low Pressure Boilers
- Plumbing
- Carpentry
STARTING
PAY AND HOURS
$26.00 per hour
