This position will provide an extensive array
of independent and high-level professional and operational support to the administration, faculty, staff and students in the Department of
Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). This position is responsible for processing graduate applications, executing student service
activities, event management, and graduate program administration. This position will work closely with department faculty to support the
educational mission of the department, and will collaborate with the department program manager to support department initiatives and
strategic planning.

Graduate Coordinator
What you will do:
Graduate Program
Administration: (40%)


  • Manage the graduate application and admissions process from submission through decision.
  • Track application materials and monitor processing workflows to ensure completeness and timeliness.
  • Route applications to the
    Graduate Committee and generate admission decisions and letters.
  • Communicate admission outcomes to the Graduate School and
    International Admissions.
  • Collaborate with the Dean’s Office Admissions and Enrollment Director to obtain and manage applicant
    materials.
  • Compile and analyze application data; partner with Institutional Research and Graduate Education to support reporting
    needs.
  • Coordinate administration of MS and PhD programs in collaboration with the department’s Graduate Committee.
  • Develop and maintain reports, forms, and administrative documentation to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
  • Collect, enter, and
    manage data; produce routine and ad hoc reports.
  • Maintain files, records, logs, and tracking systems.
  • Review and
    submit graduate faculty appointments to Graduate Education/Graduate School.
  • Support development of accreditation reports.

Graduate Advising: 20%

  • Develop and implement advising strategies to improve student performance,
    retention, and degree progression.
  • Advise graduate students on degree requirements, milestones, and academic planning.
  • Support faculty in administering graduate programs and advising students.
  • Guide students and faculty in navigating university
    systems, policies, and academic processes at CU Denver.

Graduate Program Student Services: 20%


  • Plan and
    execute graduate orientation sessions, welcome events, and student programming.
  • Advise students on academic programs, admission
    requirements, and university policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a primary resource on academic policies, processes, and student
    responsibilities.
  • Educate students on compliance with federal (FERPA, ADA), state (e.g., COF), and institutional regulations.
  • Resolve registration issues and process schedule adjustments, special processing, and record changes.
  • Prepare
    graduation files and assist the department chair with degree audits.
  • Process student tuition stipends.

Graduate
Admissions and Outreach: 15%

  • Oversee and manage application tracking in Slate, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Monitor application processing, route files for review, and coordinate decision workflows.
  • Generate admission decisions and
    communicate outcomes to college and Graduate School partners.
  • Stay current on curriculum, policies, and procedures at department,
    college, and university levels.
  • Serve as the department’s central communication hub for graduate education information.
  • Develop and implement recruitment and marketing strategies in partnership with the Graduate Committee, department leadership, and
    Dean’s Office.

Additional Responsibilities: 5%


  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of graduate
    programs and departmental operations.

Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, education, psychology, counseling, a STEM field or
    other relevant field.
  • One (1) year experience in admissions, recruitment or a customer service environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be
substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.


Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred
Qualifications)

  • Master degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, education, psychology,
    counseling, a STEM field or other relevant field.
  • Experience coordinating day-to-day business and administrative operations of an
    organization.
  • Experience working with faculty, staff, and students in a higher education environment.
  • Experience
    working with CU Data, CU Marketplace, PeopleSoft, Navigate and Concur or similar systems and software.
  • Experience in event
    planning and execution.
  • Professional-level customer service experience.

Conditions of Employment

  • This position requires an onsite presence on
    campus 5 days a week. This position follows an on-campus work structure. Opportunities for hybrid work may be available in future based on
    demands of specific tasks and department needs.

Mental, Physical, and/or Environmental Requirements


  • This
    position may be performed on site, and will require the ability to sit for extended periods, stand and walk occasionally, reach with hands
    and arms, use hands to manipulate a keyboard and mouse, and have good near vision for computer work; often requiring minimal lifting, but
    may involve bending or reaching to retrieve items from shelves or drawers.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established
at $54,797 – $60,565.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not
limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the
University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not
eligible for overtime compensation.
