UNION POSITIONS: The internal salary range is used for applicants who are current NJ
state employees with underlying classified status for promotional calculations who meet the requirements below. The external salary range is
used for candidates who are not NJ state employees who meet the requirements below.

Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of
Employee Benefits with a dotted line to the Director of Total Rewards, the Total Rewards Analyst provides professional-level analysis and
administration in support of the College’s total rewards programs, including health, welfare, retirement, and ancillary benefits, as well as
compensation and classification activities. This position independently performs professional work of considerable difficulty using
established policies, procedures, precedents, and guidelines, and is responsible for processing and analyzing benefits and retirement
transactions, reconciling and auditing data for accuracy and compliance, and preparing required reports and filings, including the State
Quarterly Report of Contributions (ROC).
The position supports the administration of leave programs, open enrollment, and ongoing
benefits operations, while assisting with compensation-related data analysis, salary benchmarking, and classification documentation. The
Total Rewards Analyst supports departmental projects and process improvements, collaborates with HRIS, Payroll, and external agencies to
ensure accurate and timely reporting, and serves as a resource to Human Resources and the campus community regarding total rewards programs,
policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Analyst Responsibilities – Benefits
Daily:
-
Reviews the State’s EPIC system for pension transactions, including purchase requests, certifications,
withdrawals, and transfers. -
Processes and certifies retirement plan transactions in EPIC/Oracle for mandatory and voluntary
plans.

Inputs and maintains employee benefits data within Oracle Cloud and State systems.

Coordinates with
Payroll, HRIS, and external agencies to ensure accurate and timely reporting of pension and health benefit information.
Bi-Weekly / Monthly:
-
Reconciles biweekly and monthly retirement contribution activity and reviews system data to
ensure timely and accurate enrollment.

Verifies and reconciles benefits data, including enrollments, deductions, and
invoices.
Quarterly:
-
Prepares and is responsible for the accurate and timely submission of the State
Quarterly Report of Contributions (ROC) in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
As Needed:

Prepares clear, technically sound, accurate, and informative reports containing findings, conclusions, and
recommendations. -
Reviews and analyzes business processes, procedures, reports, and systems and recommends improvements
consistent with established guidelines.

Maintains electronic vendor files and assists with the implementation of benefit rate
updates and process improvements.
Analyst Responsibilities – Leaves & Retirement
Daily /
Ongoing:

Performs data entry and processing related to leaves of absence and return-to-work
actions.

Assists in the administration of health, welfare, and leave programs, including coordination of COBRA and related
processes.
As Needed:

Prepares and processes retirement documentation, including certifications and
supporting materials for employee separation.
Compensation & Classification Support
Quarterly / Periodic

Prepares reports and supporting documentation for market pricing, salary benchmarking, and
internal reviews.

Compiles data for internal equity reviews and other compensation-related analyses.

Assists in the collection, compilation, and analysis of compensation data to support salary administration
activities. -
Reviews and organizes position description and classification documentation to ensure consistency with
established standards.

Maintains records and tracking of compensation-related transactions and supporting
documentation.

Establishes and maintains working relationships with HRIS, Payroll, and other functional areas.

Coordinates with HRIS to support reporting, data integrity, and system updates related to benefits and
compensation information.

Serves as a resource to Human Resources staff and the campus community regarding benefits processes
and general total rewards inquiries. -
Performs special projects and other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited
College or University in a related field. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year for year
basis. - One year of experience related to employee benefits processing.
- Demonstrated ability to research, interpret and
analyze information and formulate recommendations for the senior benefits team and senior management. - Ability to comprehend,
analyze, interpret, and apply established law, regulations, policies, procedures, precedents, and guidelines. - Excellent analytical,
quantitative, and problem solving skills. Experience with Payroll and HRIS systems as well as analytical tools. Ability to conduct research,
analyze data, and interpret findings. - Proficiency with Excel. Ability to synthesize large amounts of data and identify key trends.
Ability to prepare clear, technically sound, accurate, and informative reports containing findings, conclusions, and
recommendations. - Ability to meet assigned deadlines and work well under pressure. Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities
in a time sensitive, fast-paced environment. Highly detailed oriented and organized. Ability to organize assigned work, and develops
appropriate methods for meeting goals and objectives. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to establish
liaisons and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff or organizations whose functions impact on assigned
responsibilities. Ability to develop and conduct training workshops, and/or seminars for the campus community.
