The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to align with the overall
strategy of the Human Resources department. This role partners closely with the HR Director and contributes to key HR functions including
recruitment, onboarding, employee lifecycle management, HRIS administration, reporting, and employee engagement
initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to the Director of Human Resources across
functional areas including recruitment, staffing, training and development, reporting, compliance, HR events, and other institutional
initiatives. - Manage the full onboarding process, including job requisition coordination, offer letter preparation, orientation
scheduling, and completion of new hire documentation. - Prepare and distribute employee correspondence such as promotion, transfer,
and job change letters. - Coordinate the offboarding process, including exit interviews and separation documentation.
- Maintain employee records within the 32BJ Union system and ensure compliance with union requirements.
- Develop and
administer college-wide surveys; collaborate with Communications and Marketing to support campus initiatives. - Process employment
verifications, loan forgiveness requests, unemployment claims, and other HR-related communications. - Assist in the development,
maintenance, and updating of the HR website. - Participate in the development, tracking, and analysis of HR metrics and reports.
- Maintain accurate employee data within the Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
- Support onboarding for student
workers, including processing I9 documentation and entering employment data into HR system. - Maintain and update organizational
charts to reflect staffing changes. - Create and distribute HR communications via MyW&J and Constant Contact.
- Administer and
manage the Employee Recognition Program. - Conduct research and support special projects as assigned by the HR department.
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date electronic personnel files for all current and former employees.
- Other administrative
duties, including monitoring and distributing HR emails and HR incoming mail.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s
degree required. - 1-2 years of human resources management related experience or relevant education, with demonstrated knowledge of
human resource principles, practices. - Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to coach and
counsel employees and management. - Open and easily approachable.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft, Outlook and
Excel.
