Position Information

The
University of California, Riverside School of Medicine (UCR SOM), is recruiting two part-time Psychiatrists (up to 0.50 FTE each) to support
the launch of the new View Hospital Adult Services Program, scheduled to open in July 2026. These positions will play a foundational role in
supporting clinical operations, patient care, and the academic mission associated with the expansion of services at View Hospital. The
physicians will contribute to the development of a high-quality clinical program while collaborating with faculty, hospital leadership, and
interdisciplinary teams. The successful candidate must possess an M.D. or equivalent degree, be board certified and/or eligible to practice
in the State of California by the time of employment. Applicants must qualify for medical staff privileges at UCR Health and UCR affiliated
hospitals. The full salary range for the Psychiatrist positions are: * Associate Physician Diplomate (board certified + 1 year exp):
$163,400 – $400,300; expected pay scale for this position is up to $310,000 annually. * Associate Physician (board eligible + 1 year exp):
$142,100 – $348,100; expected pay scale for this position is up to $290,000 annually. * Assistant Physician (board eligible): $123,500 –
$302,600; expected pay scale for this position is up to $270,000 annually. These rates are annual rates at 100% FTE appointment and will be
pro-rated based on appointment FTE %. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure, certifications,
experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff
position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will
be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time.
Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional
requirements.

Requirements

Education Requirements

• Possession of the education and
  legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the California Board of Medical Quality
  Assurance.

Experience

• UCR has three levels of physicians; all levels require completion of medical
  residency and are distinguished by board certification status and years of experience.
• Junior Physician (Assistant) requires board
  eligibility and must successfully pass the board exam within 18 months of hire.
• Physician (Associate) requires board eligibility
  and must successfully pass the board exam within 18 months of hire and must have a minimum of 1 year of experience post
  internship/residency.
• Associate Physician Diplomate requires board certification and must have a minimum of 1 year of experience
  post internship/residency.
• Must meet UC credentialing requirements.
• Background and skills in clinical practice, clinical
  teaching, and managed care.
• Experience in behavioral health inpatient and outpatient settings.

work collaboratively with others. Ability to work effectively with staff and patients from diverse ethnic/racial backgrounds, educational

License Requirements

• Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in
  California as determined by the California Medical Board.
• Maintenance of California Medical License and Drug Enforcement Agency
  (DEA) prescribing number.

Certification Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
  certification.

Key Responsibilities

• Specialty Patient Care: Physician Specialists engage in
  specialty direct patient care activities and medical/clinical practice as the principal component of his/her overall professional
  responsibility. Patient care activities will include, but are not be limited to: 1. Assessment, evaluation, diagnostic determination,
  on-going treatment and clinical management, necessary referral for consultation, care planning and modification, medications/therapeutic
  orders, transfer authorization, risk assessment, and, when appropriate, determination of readiness and planning for discharge. 2. Extensive
  and on-going communications with community primary care physicians who routinely manage the care of patients. 3. Day-to-day patient
  contact/rounding/care management that actively encourages and includes professional input from all members of the patient care team. 4.
  Accurate and timely completion of all clinical and professional records and documentation to assure compliance with local, state and federal
  regulatory, licensure and accreditation requirements. 5. Instruct residents, interns, and students in a designated specialized medical
  service.
