General Function

The Instructor NT is a non-tenure track position with responsibilities to teach
full-time and to provide appropriate service. The Instructor NT may participate in research or creative
activities.



Description of Primary Duties

The Instructor is a full-time, on-campus (in-person) faculty
position within the special education program. Essential duties and responsibilities are assigned by the School Director and may include
serving as an academic advisor. The Instructor will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in multiple instructional modalities, including
in-person and online formats. Additional responsibilities may include supporting the Pathways for Paras program, which facilitates the
transition of individuals working in PK-12 settings in non-certified roles into certified teaching positions. The position may also involve
overseeing practicum students and collaborating with PK-12 school partners to support field experiences and strengthen university-school
partnerships.



Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

An earned terminal degree or the degree required for teaching
in certain disciplines is required. Potential or demonstrated teaching ability is required. A willingness to serve the academic unit,
college, and the University is required.



Additional Qualifications

A master’s degree from an accredited
institution of higher learning is required. Candidates must hold a degree in Special Education or related field of education. A minimum of
three years of special education teaching or related experience is required. Candidate must hold certification in Special Education or
another field of education. Knowledge of requirements for attaining certification through the Missouri Department of Elementary and
Secondary Education is required.
