Sussex County Community College is seeking a part time LACE (Learning at College Experience) Class Instructor. Sussex County Community College’s LACE Program (Learning At College Experience) provides a dynamic, inclusive learning environment for post-high school students to access lifelong learning and social opportunities in an accessible and supportive community.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Plan individual class activities in conjunction with Program Coordinator.
  2. Choose class materials in conjunction with Program Coordinator.
  3. Make copies of class work as needed.
  4. Provide direction to class assistants during class.
  5. Work in coordination with other instructors in different class sections.
  6. Prepare electives as needed.
  7. Make sure every student from your class has exited the floor to the pick up area after class, make sure bathrooms are unoccupied and stairwells are empty.
  8. Put materials away in closet.
  9. Shut down computers after class.
  10. Receive two hours of staff meetings and two (or more) hours of prep time per semester.
  11. Inform Program Coordinator of any issues with students.
  12. If substituting for another instructor, follow provided lesson plans.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Special Education / Teacher Certification

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:


  • Ability to effectively interact with College faculty/staff and community representatives.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office
