Major/Essential Functions
At Texas Tech University, the
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer title designates a full-time, non-tenure-acquiring role with primary duties in teaching organized classes and/or
instructional labs. In line with TTU’s strategic priorities to engage and empower a dynamic student body, applicants should have experience
working with a breadth of student populations at the undergraduate level.



As a faculty member in the School of Professional Studies,
you will be expected to:

  1. Teach online courses in Human Resource Development, including but not limited to workforce planning,
    talent development, training and performance improvement, and organizational development.
  2. Deliver student-centered instruction using
    evidence-based online pedagogy.
  3. Support curriculum design, assessment, and continuous improvement aligned with HRDV learning
    outcomes and industry expectations.
  4. Provide regular, meaningful communication and feedback to students to support retention and
    academic achievement.
  5. Participate in program and departmental meetings, assessment activities, and online academic
    events.
  6. Utilize the learning management system and instructional technologies to enhance online engagement, accessibility, and
    learning effectiveness.

Required Qualifications


  1. Terminal degree (Ph.D., J.D. or equivalent) in Human Resource
    Development, Human Resources, Law, Organizational Development, or a closely related field;
    OR
  2. Master’s degree in Human Resource
    Development, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a closely related field, with 18 graduate hours in HRDV-relevant coursework as
    determined by the academic unit.
  3. Degree must be conferred prior to hire.

Preferred Qualifications
In addition to
the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:

  1. Relevant
    professional HR credentials such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
  2. Experience teaching online courses or adult learners in higher
    education.
  3. Proficiency with online learning platforms (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard) and digital instructional tools.
  4. 2-5 years
    of professional experience in Human Resource Development, talent management, training and development, employment law, or a related HR
    area.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to student success and engagement in online environments.
