POSITION SUMMARY:


Serves as the legal assistant for the General Counsel’s
office
and the and office manager for the division, which includes University Compliance, Risk Management, and the Office of General
Counsel.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials with careful
    attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of
    constituencies in a diverse
    community.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
  • Knowledge of
    subpoena management and
    response.
  • Knowledge of legal contracts, agreement and settlement procedures and documentation
  • Ability to draft legal
    documents.
  • Knowledge of the principles and procedures of legal research.
  • Highly Proficient with
    Microsoft Office products,
    Adobe Acrobat, internet search engines, and ability to learn cloud-based contract management system and Workday
    (University Enterprise
    Resource Planning system).
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and work independently and
    under pressure to meet
    critical deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and
    efficiency.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Paralegal certificate
    preferred.
  • Minimum of five
    years’ experience as a legal assistant in an in-house legal department or law firm, with progressively
    increasing responsibilities.


WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Full-time; Exempt position
  • Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM

SALARY
STRUCTURE:

Pay Grade 7 ($58,011 to $86,299 annually)
