Job Description:
Other duties as assigned. Assists with procedure setup and provides support to the provider during procedures. Ensures accurate and timely EMR documentation of all skills performed. Phase V Competency: Administers intramuscular injections, subcutaneous medications, and immunizations, documenting all in the EMR. Provides clerical and office support, including reception, telephone management, and retrieval of medical information from various sources. Greets and rooms patients, ensuring a smooth flow within the clinic. Supports the healthcare team under the direct supervision of a clinical mentor and professional development team. Phase I Competency: Patient rooming, vital signs, progressive competency based medical assistant apprentice under direct supervision of facility based clinical mentor and professional development and education team, EKG and EMR documentation skills. Phase II Competency: Collects point-of-care test samples, including urine, rapid strep, and influenza tests, and documents results in the EMR. Phase III Competency: Collects additional point-of-care test samples, such as HGB A1C, HGB/HCT, and PT/INR, and performs venipuncture and specimen collection, documenting all in the EMR. Phase IV Competency: Administers oral medications and documents the administration in the EMR.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Organizational [Required]
