The Office Supervisor will, under general supervision of the Department Chair, perform and supervise administrative responsibilities for
routine and/or complex transactions supporting the Department of Economics.

Telework:

A hybrid telework schedule may be available.

Responsibilities:


Specific
duties include:

  • Provide lead administrative support to Department Chair
  • Budget reconciliations including general
    operating, self-support, research and foundations accounts
  • Procurement card holder
  • Travel and expense reimbursements
  • Journal entries
  • Track consultancy sabbatical and faculty annual reports
  • Assist Chair with annual workload report and
    department reviews
  • Record minutes at monthly faculty meetings
  • Supervise administrative staff and student assistants
  • Provide general assistance to faculty and students
  • HR Liaison with Shared Services
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications:


Requires a High School Diploma or GED and five years of progressively responsible
clerical work to include at least one year in supervisory capacity.

Note: Additional related experience and formal education in which
one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work may be substituted for the education or
experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.


Preferred
Qualifications:

Administrative and supervisory experience and Microsoft Office skills.

Salary:

Pay Range – minimum: $28.64/hour to maximum: $30.57/hour based on the University System of
Maryland (USM) Pay Program.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including
but not limited to, Memorandum of Understanding, USM Board of Regent policies, internal equity, budget and qualifications and experience.
Most salary offers will be close to the minimum part of the range.



The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and
reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
