Overview
The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiations agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations, which encompasses an expansive range of comprehensive service and business operations across the State of New Jersey. These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Operations Area Manager – Parking Facilities & Systems for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O).
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Responsible for all facets of parking facility maintenance university wide.
- Oversees daily operations, maintenance, and safety of parking decks, surface lots, access control systems, gates, pay stations, signage, striping, lighting, and related infrastructure. Supervises operational and liaisons with Facilities maintenance personnel and vendors performing planned, preventive, and emergency work.
- Provides project management leadership for assigned initiatives by coordinating planning, schedules, resources, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with operational and organizational objectives.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience, and a minimum of five years’ experience in institutional project work or maintenance field.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read blueprints, write specifications, and develop project costs.
- Good communication, organizational, and customer service skills and computer literacy in industry standard software are also required.
- Must be able to develop project specifications, write project justifications, and develop project costs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ten years experience in building trades with minimum of five years extensive experience in mechanical/electrical repair and maintenance field.
