Job Description Summary
The Penn Parking Attendant’s primary role is to provide
excellent customer service while helping commuters who work at the University and visitors coming to this attractive urban campus find a
range of parking lots and garages conveniently located near their destination.

Description

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently process parking payments via credit
    cards
  • Utilize multi-point of sale processors including stand-alone credit card terminals and payment kiosks.
  • Efficiently
    reconcile transactions.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Maintain control of parking facility to which
    assigned.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor
  • Flex role: May be scheduled to work AM or PM shift depending on
    operational needs. A flex position requires attendants to accommodate alternating schedules throughout the week including weekends and
    evenings, as posted generally on Wednesdays for the following week starting on Monday.


Qualifications:

  • A High
    School Diploma or GED is required and 2 years to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Cash
    handling experience and ability to operate computerized cash revenue system is required
  • Acceptable experience includes retail sales
    managing customer payments and providing exceptional customer service
  • Must be available to work variable shift assignments Monday to
    Sunday (including evenings & weekends) as assigned
  • Valid driver’s license is required.

Penn Parking
Services, a department within the Division of Business Services, manages parking operations across the University of Pennsylvania’s campus,
including 25 garages and surface lots, and special event parking. The department provides a variety of parking options for faculty, staff,
students, and visitors, ensuring that operations are safe, efficient, and customer-focused.

In addition to overseeing parking
facilities, Penn Parking supports the University’s sustainability goals through the expansion of electric vehicle (EV) charging
infrastructure and efficient transportation initiatives. The department also plays a key role in supporting large campus events such as
Commencement, Penn Relays, and Alumni Weekend.
