Job Summary/Basic Function:
To provide customer service for parking patrons; provide security/safety functions; patrol lots and garages and enforce parking rules and regulations; perform leadwork responsibilities and supervise Parking Specialists in the absence of the supervisor; ensure parking fees are collected and parking rules and regulations are adhered to; provide routine maintenance on meters and signs; perform related work.

Level Scope:
Applies skills and job knowledge in area of specialization; may adapt procedures, operations, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet needs of area of specialization; may work on non-routine tasks; resolves issues/makes working decisions within area of specialization or responsibility with minimal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:
Willingness to: stand and walk continuously throughout an eight-hour shift; bend, stoop, lift, and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds; work outdoors in all weather conditions; visually observe activities in an assigned area; use a two-way radio to communicate information.
Experience: providing public service in a work setting; dealing with difficult customers; ability to interpret and apply rules and regulations. Some knowledge of supervisory practices.
A valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications:
1 year of related experience.
Salary and Benefits: Salary is $17.50/hr. Boise State University provides a best-in-class benefits package, including (but not limited to):
- 12 paid holidays AND the University is closed between Christmas and New Year’s (requires use of 3 vacation days)
- Between 12-24 annual paid vacation days for full-time Professional and Classified staff depending on position type and years of service
