Job
Summary
This is a part-time, temporary support position within the Food Services department. The Food Service Worker works
under general supervision of Director. Work performed in short order cooking, routine kitchen work, and waiting on customers and performing
related work as required. The Food Service Worker is responsible for performing assigned duties during the day, evening, or weekend as
assigned.
Job Duties
- Prepares foods such as grilled and hot-line foods.
- Cleans kitchen,
dining room, trays, food carts, and other kitchen equipment as needed. - Operates a cash register.
- Takes orders and serves
customers. - May perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Successful
completion of the eighth grade. - Experience in food preparation and serving the public.
Preferred
Qualifications
- 1-3 years customer service experience.
- 1-3 years food preparation experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to operate a cash register.
- Ability to establish and
maintain an effective working relationship with the students, the public and other employees.
Physical Requirements
/ Working Conditions
- Considerable physical activity. May require handling of objects that can weigh up to 50
lbs. - Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
- Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or
loud noises.
