Job Summary

The School of Education at Dalton State College invites applicants for a part time instructor of special education position for Summer (session A, B, and C), Fall semester and Spring semester. Candidates must be prepared to teach undergraduate-level courses in education.

A complete application must include (1) Resume or Curriculum vitae, (2) Cover letter (3) Transcripts of all college work (undergraduate and graduate). Unofficial transcripts will suffice for initial screening, however official transcripts will be required upon employment (4) At least three professional references that include full name, job title, organization, phone number and email address, and a brief description of your relationship with the reference. References should be with current and/or past employers.

Responsibilities

  • The standard teaching load is 7 credits per semester
  • May be required to teach day, evening, or online courses

Required Qualifications


  • Earned Masters or Specialist in Special Education or related field, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in special education
  • Expertise/experience in one or more areas: (a) knowledge in the field of autism (b) knowledge of general elementary/secondary education

  • Demonstrated ability to teach in face-to-face, hybrid, and online classrooms.
  • Willingness to accommodate a variety of learning styles and use applied learning approaches.
  • Support the DSC Vision, Mission and Values and support an environment where the diversity of ideas, values and perspectives is welcomed and nurtured.
  • All candidates for faculty position should be able to demonstrate the ability to educate and empower the DSC student population successfully.
  • Knowledge of and experience with integrating technology in teacher education.
