Part-time Technology Specialist – School of Nursing

POSITION SUMMARY:


This position in the School of Nursing will assist the Assistant Dean for
Instructional and Clinical Technology and the Online Testing Coordinator with student examinations and technical support. The position will
post assessments, create proctor materials and instructions, troubleshoot minor technical issues during exams and proctor exams when
necessary. They may also assist with other educational and lab simulation technology.

DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist Online Testing Coordinator with posting and scheduling of exams and
quizzes. Monitor Basecamp queue for exam requests. Adjust online exam settings to adhere to School of Nursing policies. Post exam to course
for desired date/time and set download, upload, deletion and email reminder settings. Create PDF documents with exam information and notify
faculty and staff of exam codes for each exam. Post make-up exams as necessary for faculty to administer to students.



Create exam
proctor packets, student rosters, and instruction sheets. Create online sign-ups for volunteer staff and graduate assistants. Schedule
Outlook appointments for exams, create calendar reminders for staff and other spreadsheet and document work as required.

Provide
basic technical assistance to faculty and students before exams. Troubleshoot student devices including Windows/Mac laptops and iPads to
ensure compatibility with various School of Nursing testing platforms. Provide hands-on assistance during exams to quickly resolve testing
issues with devices and/or exam software. Assist faculty and students with exam uploads and confirm all user data has been received. Assist
faculty post-exam with retrieving reports, adjusting scoring and posting results.



Proctor exams and ensure a secure testing
environment to maintain academic integrity. Follow exam rules outlined by faculty and review rules with students. Check-in students for
attendance and notify faculty of missing or tardy students. Actively monitor students and room throughout the exam.

Verify students
completed and uploaded exam answers.


Assist Assistant Dean for Instructional and Clinical Technology with operation of educational
technology products for the School of Nursing. This may include electronic attendance tools, Zoom meetings, and eBook resources. May also
assist with lab simulation setup, recording simulation scenarios, and assisting during simulation debriefing.

Completes other duties
as assigned.



REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications:


Knowledge of Microsoft Office
required;

Knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems;


Strong written and verbal communication skills;

Ability to
work both independently and in a team environment;


Ability to problem solve quickly and independently;

Able to function within
a complex and highly collaborative administrative structure;


Working knowledge of computer troubleshooting;

Ability to be
flexible with hours is mandatory. Evening and early morning hours will be required.



Preferred qualifications:

Experience working in higher education.


Skilled at using iPads and familiar with online exam software.
