Job Description:
The Testing Services Proctor supports the administration of academic, placement, certification, and accommodated testing within the Learning Center’s Testing Services unit. This position is responsible for maintaining testing integrity, ensuring compliance with college policies and accommodation requirements, providing excellent customer service to students and faculty, and assisting with daily testing operations.
The proctor serves as a key member of the Testing Services team, helping to create a secure, welcoming, and equitable testing environment while supporting student success and academic integrity.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proctor academic, placement, certification, and make-up examinations in accordance with established procedures.
- Verify student identity and ensure compliance with testing regulations.
- Monitor testing environments to maintain exam security and academic integrity.
- Administer accommodated exams in accordance with approved student accommodations.
- Document testing irregularities and report concerns to the Testing Services Coordinator.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and testing materials.
- Welcome students and explain testing procedures.
- Assist students with check-in and check-out processes.
- Provide basic troubleshooting assistance for testing software and technology.
- Respond professionally to student and faculty questions while maintaining testing security.
- Assist with the receipt, organization, distribution, and return of testing materials.
- Support communication with faculty regarding testing procedures and scheduling.
- Ensure exam instructions are accurately followed and documented.
- Prepare testing rooms and workstations prior to testing sessions.
- Monitor testing schedules and room assignments.
- Maintain organized testing records and documentation.
- Assist with inventory and maintenance of testing supplies and equipment.
- Support extended-hour, evening, or peak testing periods as needed.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of customer service, education, administrative support, testing, or related experience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree.
- Experience in a college, educational, testing, or customer service environment.
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Familiarity with accommodated testing practices and accessibility services.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMETS
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout testing sessions.
- Ability to monitor multiple testing spaces.
- Ability to lift and move testing materials and supplies up to 15 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Testing Services operates in a secure, student-focused environment that may require evening hours, extended testing periods, and increased activity during midterms, finals, placement testing, and other peak testing cycles.
Pay rate: $19.00 / per hour
