The Mubadala Arabian Center for Climate and Environmental Sciences (Mubadala ACCESS) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a Research Engineer to lead the development of modern data engineering infrastructure supporting multidisciplinary environmental and climate research. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with researchers across marine science, climate science, biodiversity, and environmental monitoring to build scalable data platforms that enable world-class research and evidence-based decision making.

The successful candidate will design and maintain cloud-based data infrastructure, develop automated data pipelines, integrate diverse scientific datasets, and implement data governance and quality assurance frameworks. Working closely with faculty, researchers, software developers, and external collaborators, the Research Engineer will help develop analytical platforms that support environmental monitoring, artificial intelligence applications, geospatial analytics, and long-term research data management.

Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience in Python, SQL, cloud computing, data engineering, and modern software development practices. Experience working with scientific data, geospatial information, environmental monitoring systems, or research infrastructure is highly desirable.
