Position Summary
Phoenix Children’s is excited to begin building our Respiratory Therapy team for the future East Valley Campus! We are seeking experienced Respiratory Therapists for full-time day and night shift opportunities who are passionate about pediatric care and interested in helping launch a brand-new pediatric hospital campus.
Candidates selected for these positions will initially complete orientation, training, and work assignments at our Thomas Campus while preparing for the East Valley opening. The projected opening timeline is early 2027 and is subject to change based on operational needs. Team members hired for East Valley-designated positions will transition to the new campus once operations begin.
As a Respiratory Therapist at Phoenix Children’s, you will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients ranging from neonates through adolescents in both acute and critical care environments. RTs work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based care across a variety of specialty areas.
Preferred Qualifications
• Pediatric respiratory care experience preferred
• NICU experience preferred
• Labor & Delivery experience preferred
• NRP certification preferred
• Candidates without NRP must obtain certification within six (6) months of hire
• Phoenix Children’s will provide support and resources for NRP attainment
Required Qualifications
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC
• Current Arizona Respiratory Care Practitioner license (or ability to obtain prior to hire)
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to train and work at the Thomas Campus prior to transitioning to East Valley

Please Note: New graduate Respiratory Therapists are encouraged to apply for opportunities at the Thomas Campus. East Valley positions are intended for experienced Respiratory Therapists with a strong interest in pediatric specialty care.
This position facilitates and administers respiratory care, including routine and complex procedures, using a wide variety of techniques and equipment. Ensures care meets quality standards established by the hospital, department and regulatory agencies and maintains all skills and knowledge sufficient to provide safe, effective, and developmentally appropriate care to all ages of patients from neonate to adolescent. This position also participates in executing quality improvement initiatives.
Education
- Successful completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapist Program.

Experience
- Post graduation experience in a hospital environment. (Preferred)
Certifications
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association. (Required)
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). (Required)
- Current State of Arizona Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
(Required) - American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) membership. (Preferred)
- Current PALS certification. (Preferred)
