Title: Seasonal Painter

Position Purpose:


Executing all varieties of painting, related
maintenance, renovations, and repair projects on campus. Uses high quality painting skills, works well with scheduling and other members of
the Paint Shop. This is a seasonal/summer role.


Job Duties:

  • Communicate well with all
    customers and understand their needs.
  • Operate all painting related equipment.
  • Perform all painting related functions.
  • Complete assigned work orders and PM (preventative maintenance) orders.
  • Interact well with other painters, all Facility
    Services personnel, department heads, and residents of buildings where work is being performed.

Minimum
Qualifications:


Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Maine
    driver’s license.


Experience

  • 0-3 years of residential and/or commercial painting
    experience.
  • Ability to work with various types of paints and coatings associated with the trade.
  • Pressure washer, paint
    sprayer, other equipment generally associated with the painting trade.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Basic math and
    computer skills.
  • Ability to logically trouble-shoot equipment problems.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions in
    the context of the job.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with supervisors, co-workers and outside contacts.
  • Ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength.
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy to effectively handle a
    broad range of interpersonal situations and to respond appropriately to conflicts and problems.
  • Ability and willingness to work
    weekends, evenings, on-call and other non-traditional schedules.
