Emporia State University is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Senior Academic Advisor within the Student Advising Center. Reporting to the Director of the Student Advising Center, the Senior Academic Advisor serves as a leader within the advising team and plays a critical role in supporting student success through holistic, developmental advising practices.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advising a student caseload
  • Guiding students toward degree completion
  • Monitoring academic progress
  • Providing training and mentorship to advisors
  • Reviewing advising records and notes
  • Developing advisor training resources
  • Analyzing student success data
  • Collaborating with faculty and campus partners to support retention and graduation initiatives


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Counseling or a related field; or 4 years of related professional experience in lieu of degree

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Experience training, mentoring, or supervising professional staff.
  • Experience utilizing student success technologies, advising platforms, and data-informed decision-making.


COMPENSATION:

Compensation will be negotiable based upon education & experience
