Summary


The Senior Director of Facilities Management will direct the operation and maintenance of the physical plant across
several Dallas College campuses. The Director must be an experienced leader with a proven track record of planning, implementing,
evaluating, organizing, and directing facilities management activities in a dynamic higher education environment. In doing so, the Senior
Director will help to ensure all applicable federal, state and Dallas College Board of Trustees laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
are strictly adhered to.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges and
    the vision of Dallas College.
  • In-depth experience with a wide range of CMMSs.
  • Extensive knowledge with managing a robust
    preventative and predictive maintenance program.
  • Strong background in building services trades: electrical, mechanical, fire and
    security systems, plumbing, custodial, carpentry, painting, roofing, welding, HVAC controls, and locksmith.
  • Experience with
    procurement methods to include cooperative purchases, formal bids, RFPs and RFQs.
  • Experience with energy management, sustainability,
    and recycling as they pertain to Facilities Management.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints and schematic
    drawings.
  • Ability to administer a facilities management budget and establish, as well as monitor, fiscal accountability within areas
    of responsibility.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to respond appropriately to
    issues in a rapidly changing educational/economic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate
    effectively, verbally and in writing, complex ideas, and information to a variety of stakeholders/constituents within the Dallas College
    community network.
  • Experience with managing and directing the efforts of a work order and asset management
    team.

Minimum
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Five (5) years of related experience, which includes three (3) years
    upper-level supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilities management planning, fiscal management, resource
    allocation and personnel supervision.
  • Official transcript will be required.
  • Bilingual or multilingual
    preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures the highest quality of facilities management efforts across several campuses within
    Dallas College.
  • Assists in the successful execution of $25m+ annual project management and construction efforts to deliver quality
    Facility Improvement Plan projects.
  • Assists in maintaining construction building standards.
  • Directs and oversees the
    execution of a multi-million-dollar budget.
  • Assists in developing a 5-year strategic plan.
  • Directs the activities of crafts
    and trades, custodial services, landscape and grounds, and general maintenance services.
  • Creates relationships across Dallas College
    to guarantee customer service and promotes the overall mission of the Facilities Management department.
  • Ensures facilities
    management efforts are consistent across Dallas College.
  • Assists in the development and monitoring of suitable facilities management
    KPIs.
  • Works with other Dallas College leaders to ensure the highest level of customer service.
  • Provides safe and healthy
    buildings for Dallas College students, faculty, and staff.
  • Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours
    per academic year.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
