The Senior Human
Resources Specialist (Employee Relations & Staffing) provides professional-level HR support in the areas of staffing operations, employee
relations administration, compliance tracking, and performance management. This position works collaboratively with the Director of Staffing
& HR Operations and supports the Director of Employee Relations in administering unemployment claims, managing employee performance
appraisal processes, maintaining compliance documentation, and assisting with employee relations matters.
The position ensures
efficient HR operations while promoting consistency, compliance, confidentiality, and a positive employee experience across the
College.
Min Salary: $51,292.31
Mid Salary: $57,703.85 – We offer a competitive salary
package that will be determined based on the candidate’s experience level and qualifications related to the job. Compensation will be
commensurate with your level of experience.
Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public
Administration, Business Administration or related field from a regionally accredited post-secondary
institution
OR
- Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution and three years
of Employee Relations experience
OR
- 2 years of College and 6 years of HR
experience
Experience Required
- Three years of Employee Relations professional experience
- Experience in employee relations, unemployment claims administration, or performance management
- Experience working with HRIS
Systems
Experience Preferred
- Experience in higher education or public sector HR
- Experience with
Ellucian Colleague and/or PeopleAdmin - Experience managing unemployment hearings or agency correspondence
- Experience
administering performance management systems - Experience working in HR for local, state or federal government
KSA
Required
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Ability to maintain strict
confidentiality - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarization with Federal and State employment
laws - Familiarization with and ability to effectively process I-9 Employment Eligibility using E-Verify
- Ability to work
efficiently under time constraints; ability to multitask/prioritize while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy - Strong
organizational skills. - Ability to accept unfamiliar projects, research and collect data, apply the information to the project, and
develop an appropriately completed product with little or no supervision. - Ability to work well independently with minimal
supervision and also as a team member. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels within an organization
- Proficient in routine office skills such as the preparation of business correspondence, forms, statistical reports, personnel and other
records. - Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion
- Demonstrated ability to analyze information, prepare reports, and
make appropriate recommendations and decisions - Effective collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Excellent customer service skills a must.
- Proficiency in Microsoft
Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

The following (compliance) training is required and must be completed
within the first 30 days of hire with annual refresher training thereafter:

- Other training may be
required as determined applicable.
