POSITION
SUMMARY:

This is administrative/ professional work in the area of the student accounts office.

DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides excellent customer service related to student inquiries and assists with student retention
efforts.


Manages, reviews, and analyzes the collection agency accounts for the Student Accounts Office.

Develops, implements
and oversees both holistic and specific marketing communication pieces to benefit students and members of the Duquesne community while
ensuring that the marketing materials meet the University’s message, quality and consistency standards.


Monitors and forecasts the
departmental operating budget, processes invoices via Unimarket, maintains supply inventory and coordinates renovation
projects.

Supports the Duquesne University Financial Wellness Initiative.


Manages all aspects of human resources
administration for the department, including completion of bi-weekly payroll time entry, leave time tracking, hiring and terminating
paperwork, etc.

Responsible for the timely preparation and completion of various year-end schedules and work papers pertaining to
student accounts used by the independent auditors in conjunction with their examination of the university’s financial statements.


Performs various regular and ad hoc projects, as assigned by the Director of Student Accounts.

Completes other duties as
assigned.



REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications:


Bachelor’s degree in accounting,
finance, or related field from an accredited institution.

Preferred qualifications:

Prior work experience in
a higher education student accounts office or related non-profit accounting environment.


Prior work experience with collections
and/or communications.

Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training,
which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to,
the following:



A working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), as it pertains to not for profits,
specifically FAS 116 and FAS 117.

A working knowledge of other general accounting principles.


Ability and knowledge of general
accounting routines.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.


Exceptional verbal and written communication
skills.

Ability to perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines.


Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with the University Community.
