The Testing Center Assistant interacts effectively with a high volume of students, faculty, staff, and
community members. The individual in this position assists in providing testing services at their designated campus testing center and
supports high school and national testing as assigned, under the general supervision of the Testing Center Supervisor. The Testing Center
Assistant ensures confidentiality of testing services while upholding the integrity and security of the Testing Center.

Essential Functions:


45%
Proctoring

  • Administers correspondence tests on behalf of students taking courses through other colleges and/or universities.
    Works with students and outside institutions to secure receipt of exam materials, proctoring, and following return
    instructions.
  • Administers credit by examination for CSM departments and for CLEP and DSST. Completes required training and
    certifications required by exam companies.
  • Administers placement tests, inputs scores into Colleague as needed, and provides score
    report results to students. Directs student to placement preparation resources.
  • Administers certification tests through a variety of
    vendors such as Pearson Vue, Meazure Learning and ensures individual company policies are adhered to regarding exams and exam candidate
    instructions.
  • Monitors the testing center via cameras and walk throughs with professionalism. Guarantees and protects against
    student violations of CSM’s Student Code of Conduct.
  • Administers CSM Course tests and adheres to CSM professor’s
    instructions.
  • Keeps RegisterBlast updated while testers are testing.
  • Performs online testing for ALEKS. Follows guidelines
    and procedures effectively.
  • Reviews remote testing sessions through Examity and/or ProctorU.
  • Keeps the Testing Center
    organized and cleanly. Such as cleaning off desks between testers and at the end of the day. Shredding and filing necessary paperwork.
  • Keeps student supplies refilled and clean. Such as sharpening pencils. Cleaning off Pearson VUE and other’s dry erase boards.

25% Confidentiality

  • Assists in maintaining test security for all tests.
  • Enforces ID policy and
    requirements.
  • Keeps all instructor test files confidential and secure. Carefully returns exam packets to appropriate parties in
    accordance with established procedure.
  • Maintains confidentiality of ADA accommodations plans.
  • Enter test scores into
    Colleague.

25% Communication


  • Communicate the Testing Center hours to faculty, staff, and
    students.
  • Maintains awareness of the different Student Service Departments hours and activities in order to provide general up to
    date information to students.
  • Answers phones and returns voicemails, coordinating with Testing Center Manager to assure that the
    most current information is available to customers, providing information on the various testing services to the internal and external
    college community.
  • Directs received non-testing related questions to appropriate personnel or departments either in-person, via
    email, or phone calls.
  • Communicates with professors regarding exams received and any issues that arises regarding their exams.
  • Answers emails in a timely manner.
  • Reaches out to Disability Services regarding students’ accommodation plans when
    needed.
  • Reviews received RegisterBlast and paper exams, fills out covers sheets as needed, logs exams in Excel, sends exams via
    email or mail to correct Testing Center location.
  • Helping students sign-in for exams and locking items up.
  • Creating ALEKS
    accounts for CSM students.
  • Communicates with test vendors and other college institutions.
  • Send outs completed exams to
    other Testing Center locations.
  • Scans and emails completed exams.
  • Attends training and CSM events at other campuses and off
    campus locations.

5% Reporting and Documentation

  • Produces weekly and monthly reports on the position’s
    activity such as phone calls, emails, administered exams.
  • Produces other reports as required.

Qualifications:

Required Education and
Experience:


  • High school diploma
    • Two years of customer service experience required
    • Proficient with standard computer
      use


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree
    • Experience in educational setting/environment
    • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel


Licenses, Certifications, or Additional Requirements:


  • Current
    certifications through Pearson VUE, Meazure Learning, DSST, CLEP, and others within six months prior to starting the position.
  • Must
    be able to complete all Testing Center required certifications within the six months.

    extended timing of tests, reader, enlarged tests, etc.
  • Ability to resolve customer issues/problems in a manner that exceeds client
    expectations.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and
    reporting communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team member.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Varied schedule
including day, evenings, and Saturdays. The work is primarily sedentary and requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or
negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Flexibility is required, as the work schedule for this
position requires day, evening, and Saturdays. Work is performed in a relatively safe, and secure work environment.
