Job Summary
The Athletics Video Coordinator / Creative Director supports the men’s basketball program by managing all video operations and leading the creation of digital media content for the program. This position is responsible for recording, editing, organizing, and distributing video content to assist coaches and student-athletes with performance analysis, game preparation, and player development. Additionally, the role is responsible for creating, producing, editing, and posting digital media content across appropriate platforms promptly to support program visibility, recruiting, and fan engagement. The position also manages video equipment and coordinates required video exchanges in compliance with NCAA and Southland Conference regulations.
Essential Job Functions
Video Recording and Game Operations:
- Coordinates the recording of all practices, games, and related team activities.
- Ensures proper video capture using designated equipment and software.
- Maintains organized video libraries and ensures the timely availability of footage for coaching staff review.
Video Editing, Breakdown, and Analysis:
- Edits and breaks down practice and game footage to support the coaching staff’s analysis.
- Prepares scouting clips, opponent breakdowns, and player development videos using designated video analysis platforms.
Digital Media Content Creation and Distribution:
- Responsible for creating, producing, editing, and posting digital media content across all appropriate platforms promptly for the men’s basketball program.
- Develops creative content to support recruiting, branding, and fan engagement initiatives in alignment with athletics communications strategies.
Film Exchange and Opponent Scouting Support:
- Coordinates required video exchanges with opposing institutions and conferences in accordance with NCAA guidelines.
- Assists coaching staff with video preparation for scouting reports and game preparation.
Equipment and Technology Management:
- Maintains and troubleshoots video recording equipment, cameras, software systems, and storage platforms used by the program.
- Coordinates equipment setup for practices and games and ensures systems remain operational.
Program Support and Administrative Coordination:
- Provides video and creative support for coaching staff meetings, team review sessions, recruiting presentations, and other operational needs related to the program.
Minimum and Desired Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience working in a collegiate athletics program, preferably within basketball operations or video coordination.
- Demonstrated proficiency with video editing and analysis software used in collegiate athletics.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations related to athletics operations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, student-athletes, and athletics staff.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting NCAA Division I basketball programs.
- Experience with advanced sports video analysis platforms (e.g., Hudl Sportscode, XOS, or similar systems).
- Experience coordinating video exchange and analytics for scouting and game preparation.
- Familiarity with current technology and trends in sports video analysis and performance evaluation.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to operate video cameras, computers, and editing equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and transport video equipment weighing up to approximately 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move between practice facilities and competition venues as needed.
Job Conditions:
- Duties may require evenings and weekends to support the men’s basketball program’s practices and competitions.
- Position may involve lifting, standing for extended periods, and the use of technical equipment in production environments.
