Join Boise State’s Public Safety Team as a Transportation Facilities Support Specialist! Boise State University’s Department of Public Safety invites you to apply for the role of Transportation Facilities Support. This is more than just a maintenance role – it’s a chance to grow your skills, contribute to a collaborative team, and directly support student success. In this hands-on role, you’ll design and fabricate signage, maintain and repair parking equipment and electronic devices, and help keep our campus clean, safe, and accessible year-round. From striping parking lots and operating snow removal equipment to maintaining shuttle stop shelters and supporting campus events, you’ll play a vital role in keeping Boise State running smoothly.
Job Summary/Basic Function:
To maintain and repair electronic devices and other equipment; maintain parking lots and surfaces; perform related work.
Campus Security Authority: This position is identified as a “Campus Security Authority (CSA)” per the federal law known as the Clery Act. Per this law, the employee is required to report any crimes that he/she becomes aware of to the Clery Compliance Officer. Additionally, CSAs are required to complete annual training prescribed by the Clery Compliance Officer.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: diagnosing and making repairs to basic electronic components; making mechanical repairs and minor repairs to small engines; operating power tools, including air compressors and hammer drills; using standard hand tools, including drills, screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches, saws, and files; using word processing and spreadsheet computer software.
A current and valid Driver’s License.
Salary and Benefits: Salary of $17.55/hr. Boise State University provides a best-in-class benefits package, including (but not limited to):
- 12 paid holidays AND the University is closed between Christmas and New Year’s (requires use of 3 vacation days)
- Between 12-24 annual paid vacation days for full-time Professional and Classified staff, depending on position type and years of service
