Perform all calculations and processing of student refunds for course drops, complete withdrawals and approved appeals in a timely manner according to University policy. Calculate and process all Title IV fee adjustments according to federal regulations. Analyze housing reports frequently to ensure accuracy in student charges.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience:
Typically holds a high school diploma or GED. Requires 1 or more years of job related experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials:
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in finance/accounting and two years accounting related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
A successful background check is required. Must have working knowledge with Microsoft office with heavy focus on Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and people skills. Knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping principles. Ability to communicate effectively.

Serve as back up to Cashier Coordinator for revenue cash receipting to include covering payment area for breaks and absences, making daily bank deposits, and other duties when necessary. Provide general customer service tasks like answering the phone, responding to office emails, and assisting with walk-in students.

Manage all new and current direct deposit requests for financial aid overage funds.

Job Duty
Work closely with USC Upstate housing department to determine students in housing and accurate billing. Analyze housing and meal plan reports periodically through semester to determine any housing or meal plan adjustments. Create and submit meal plan costs and Banner codes to Columbia each semester. Provide food vendor meal plan usage and sales reports.

Perform financial functions related to student tuition and fees during registration including financial aid disbursements, fee collections and student account payment plans. Adjust all meal plan changes and requests per semester.

Manage and provide all financial accounting documents for all revenue refunds including financial aid title IV return of funds, overpayments, and walkaways per semester. Place holds on student records and set up all overpayments on accounts receivable and invoice the student. Process all journal entries to return financial aid funds to source. Counsel and explain to students why they owe the University for a withdrawal or walkaway.
