Salary Range

$33,580 – $42,027 / year (with potential growth to $50,620)

Job Summary

The
Public Safety Department is currently seeking to hire Security Officers to monitor entrances, exits and property on Morgan State
University’s campus sites.

Job Duties

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Under
  direct supervision, performs routine security activities to protect buildings and property and safeguard occupants and visitors during
  normal operations and special events.
• Secures and monitors entrances and exits to buildings and property.
• Patrols
  buildings and grounds and notifies appropriate personnel when problems and safety threats arise.
• Completes logs and basic reports
  as instructed.
• Assists with traffic control, crowd control, and parking enforcement.
• Responds to routine inquiries from
  staff, students, and visitors.
• Maintains communication with appropriate personnel utilizing equipment such as two-way radios and
  telephones.

Requested Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• A High
  School Diploma or GED is required.

• The ability to follow oral and written instructions; complete basic reports;
• Detect situations
  imperiling life, safety, and property; perform extensive sitting, standing, and walking;
• Communicating effectively and operating
