The Student Employment Coordinator manages the institution’s student employment programs, including Federal Work-Study (FWS) and institutional student employment. This role is responsible for program administration, compliance with federal and institutional policies, supervisor relations, and ensuring students have access to meaningful on-campus employment opportunities that support their academic and professional development.



Key Responsibilities

  • Administer the Federal Work-Study (FWS) and institutional student employment programs in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations
  • Coordinate job postings, hiring procedures, and onboarding for student employees
  • Process student hires in a timely manner during both high and low-volume hiring periods
  • Serve as the primary liaison to campus departments employing student workers; provide training and guidance to supervisors
  • Monitor student earnings, eligibility, and award utilization
  • In collaboration with the Director of UG Student Financial Services and Managing Associate Director of Student Financial Services, reconcile payroll and financial aid systems
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Payroll to ensure accurate processing of student employment records and wages
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and communications related to student employment
  • Provide outreach and advising to students regarding job search strategies, eligibility, and workplace expectations
  • Track program data and prepare reports for internal leadership and external compliance reviews
  • Support audits and program reviews related to student employment and FWS
  • Promote equitable access to employment opportunities and support student success initiatives


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in financial aid, student employment, payroll, HR, or a related field
  • Knowledge of Federal Work-Study regulations and student employment best practices preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff
  • Experience with Work Day preferred
  • Commitment to student service, equity, and inclusion


Salary: $27.00-$30.00 per hour
