Position Description & Details

Accounts Receivable
Technician/Assistant Cashier

Position Information:


Accounts receivable collection for unpaid
tuition, financial aid reimbursement, parking, library, and bookstore charges. Work with bad debt payment arrangements. Receipt payments for
accounts receivable. Assist with the disbursement of financial aid to students. Send accounts receivable statements periodically. Request
return mail-address changes for students. Send delinquent accounts to collection agencies.

Tasks involved in fulfilling above
duty/responsibility (include description of physical demands for individual task)


  1. Oversee the student account collection
    process:
    1. Distribute monthly statements to students
    2. Reach out to students and customers regarding outstanding
      balances
    3. Coordinate with collection agencies and manage commission payments

  2. Manage collection of NSF
    (non-sufficient funds) checks and associated fees
  3. Answer inquiries from students and parents regarding student accounts, meal plans,
    housing charges, tuition deadlines, and more
  4. Send email notifications to students about upcoming tuition deadlines and other
    relevant updates
  5. Generate and maintain a list of cancellations, and track reinstatement requests each semester
  6. Prepare and
    manage student payment plan agreements
  7. Compile and review accounts receivable write-off list prior to fiscal
    year-end
  8. Process financial aid-related unofficial withdrawals and tuition fund reallocations
  9. Cross-train with the Student
    Accounts Manager to handle inquiries related to third-party billing, tuition assistance programs, veterans, and the National Guard in their
    absence
  10. Record and update charges and credits on student accounts for items such as library fines, health services, locker fees,
    wellness charges, ITC, and more


Requirements:

3 years book keeping experience



Preferred:

Associate’s Degree
